Walking through this town
Kissing the streets with my frown
I\'ve learned a few things on my way
But I still haven\'t grasped how I could
Possibly get you to stay

My mind is young, but my soul is old
I thought I felt the fire
But it just so happens I\'m still in the cold
My heart is what I thought you held in your palm
You\'d reach for me
Take me to the calm
Now I reach for you
But I cannot touch, cannot feel
That which is never there

I guess it\'s easy to let go, to fly free
When you never really held on to me.

Quite touching :-) (Smile) . I like this through and through, and I'd agree with -tank that the second stanza is the strongest (and the YAY part...). I must say that the only thing I don't like about this'n is the opening couplet. To me it seems kinda... rhythmically ineffectual. Other than that there's a nice flow put into this and yay!

I sung it along to Led Zepplin - Kashmir (it was on at the time :D (Big Grin) ) and it made a pretty nice fit :o (Eek)

Hug it's hard to say what happens to these bonds, whether they never were or they just stopped being because the stars slipped out of alignment.

no more kissing sidewalks. that's abrasive on frowns.

Hug
I like the rhyme here....it's so hard to do rhyme and not make it sound mechanical...so, well done

I really love the last two lines...A LOT
I can relate to them...as I am often the one holding on, and it is really just up to me to let go

much Heart to you
:iconspottysalamander:
awww... sad poetry from brisa?
I'm not sure that i like the rhyming scheme in the first bit, but i like it best in the last two lines. they're so profound... I also like the middle bit, it gives us a feel of the speaker :) (Smile)
